Creatures in the landscape have shown up in my work lately. They emerge, unbidden, and insist on representation. Looking back, I think they're not so new. The work for my graduate exhibit was filled with creatures, based on the boney cows I passed everyday, floating in mist-drenched fields. Included were dream images of a malevolent fox from an anxiety dream. The fox later showed up in the oxide stain on the first Quarry wall. Animals, creatures, landscapes - all in insistent relationship. I find this interesting.
